saving my life

After only 10 minutes on my bike I was heavily winded and my heart rate was near 160. Not good. Gulping cold air kind of sucks for the throat. >:( But! At least I've started the whole "getting in shape" thing.

Hitting the first round of tests for the semester. Feeling good about everything.

Tonight is supposed to be clean up night, but I have chess in half an hour, and I don't think the apartment is going to get very clean. I'll do a little now, I guess; better than nothing.

I always waste far more time on my second day off. I wonder how I can avoid doing this in the future.

The finance guy at the dealership says there's nothing more he can do, if I want to refinance the car to include the sales tax I'll have to deal with Nissan directly, as that's who I financed through. (I don't really get it get it, but I get it.) At this point I'm just going to swallow the bullet and pay it up front. feh. Something to remember the next time I buy a car, I suppose!

Tomorrow's going to be super busy. :)

I'm so lazy when picking my mood. I think I usually just grab something close to the top of the list.

Today I went to the Crowley's Ridge Nature Center for Geography. I also baked a zombie cake based off of Brian, who you will see if you scroll down that page a little.

As usual, ignore the messy stovetop; I'll, uh, clean that up soon.

Currently I'm trying to study for big test tomorrow.

Note to self: assess the car and get a license plate. >:(

So my inner child has already found what he wants for christmas. Only $18 at Walmart!

Only 3 class-weeks left in the semester. I've been kind of lazier than I should have, so now I have two major projects in Georaphy I still haven't started on and I'm a little behind in comprehension in Assembly Language. :(((( I'm also feeling fat and grumpy and stressed about money all the time, which is ironic what with Nay getting the job and all. heh, seems we jumped the gun on getting the car by a few weeks, though. :D

Went to Chess Club tonight. Beat a newbie twice, then got murdered by Famous (who started the club) and spanked twice by Michael. I really hope that "you learn more by losing" crap is true.

When I start to get tired, I tend to overexaggerate. I think things like "I'm exhausted" or "Man I need some sleep" when I really don't yet. I wonder if that's a diet issue or a mental issue.

There was a VW car show at K-Mart and some sort of gymnastics demonstration at the mall today. I was at the mall to get some coffee in Barnes and Noble and saw a Harry Potter-themed chess set for sale. I had to do a double take because of the picture on the back. It was of two kids playing with the set, but were they thinking over a position? Moving a piece? Setting up the board? Nah, they were bashing two pieces together. Wut. A chess set is not an alternative to a bag of action figures. o_0

Of course, that might just be me being picky (I apparently do that sometimes) so here's a tidbit everyone can enjoy. At school, they've finally moved the cigarette butt depositories 20ft from building entrances. The trash cans however are right next to the doors like they've always been, so that's where people huddle around to get their puff on, and that's where they throw the cigarettes when they're done. I fervently wish to see a fire before the end of the semester. :D

Well, I made it almost 4 weeks without skipping a class. The prospect of going to Statistics on the day after a quiz, having had only 6 hours of sleep...blegh. I did manage to take my Blackboard quiz (92/100, before adjustment) and post on the discussion board, so I feel okay about school today. Over the weekend I get to do some AL homework, but that's it.

Have to return Metroid Prime today. Cry.

eta: oh hey, I made a 25/25 on my Stat quiz. Yay me!

Based on Josh's glowing recommendation, I rented Metroid Prime 3 for the Wii ($6! What is the world coming to?!). I really like it, but between work and school I'm not really getting to play it. I could buy it, but I'm not sure I should.

Nay had her wisdom teeth out and is doing good, I think. Mama Julia is up here to help take care of her, so I get some good food out of the deal. :D

The AC at work broke yesterday. 96 degrees inside, and I got to be the tool on the register right next to the food warmer. They so love me. o_0

Supernatural is good. There, I said it. Im actually not thinking about Wincest as much as I thought I would, which is probably a good thing. They do act rather brotherly, which I can easily relate to, so maybe that's the reason. I spoiled myself a little watching Nay watch the last couple of episodes, so now I just want to burn through the season to get to the end.

Of my five favorite movies, I only own one, and I'm not the one who bought it. Isn't that weird?

My first test/quiz/prueba is this Thursday, over estar/ser/maybe some verb conjugation. There've been a lot of words on the worksheets I didn't know, so I've got to hit the book tonight and tomorrow; see if I can't jam 'em into memory.

TMI about Zach's sex life here. )

I've been brooding about money lately. All things considered, I'm roughly 60k in debt with a year left in school. Nay says not to worry about it, but it's hard not to.

Keeping track of the finances of two people is not a lot of fun. I get excited when I sit down, make a lot of calls, and get my ducks in a row, but then I tend to let papers get lost, letters accumulate unopened, and payments begin to slip. Anyone have any special tools or advice for keeping up with 10+ bills a month?

Renting 4 discs on a school night is definitely a mistake. I barely got my homework done, and tonight I'm going to have to lose some sleep getting Spanish done. Stupid!Zach. On the other hand, Chobits is every bit as cute as it looks, and Desert Punk is hilarious. I'm also liking the tenth Doctor more than I expected.

Anyway, life's good. I love my Nay, and the rest is just details. :)

Reason #234 Zachariah fails at school: reading textbooks is HARD. mrf, mrf, mrf. My ASM book came in today, but the mailman put it in our box. Which normally would be fine, but he puts mail in from the back, and it fits there.....but it doesn't fit through the front, which is what I have the key for. So I get to wait for him tomorrow, or else write a note and tape it to the box asking him to bang on our door.

I need some more shirts or something, I constantly feel like I have none to wear. It probably wouldn't be so bad, but I don't like wearing my "Pirates get a lot of booty" or "Women have boobs!" shirts. They're funny enough, but I always feel like girls look at me and think, "Ugh." Probably they do.

Mom wants to have a cake business. I'm ambivalent about this.

Yayz0rs!

First days at school are fun. Especially the first day after youve skipped a whole semester. Is it sad that even though I'm a senior, I can still make freshman mistakes like walking in and sitting down in the wrong classroom? Hmm. Geography feels like it's going to be really easy. The teacher is nice, and she's doing a lot of the class online, which is always a plus for me. Statistics is going to be interesting. For one thing, I bought the teachers edition ('With ALL the answers! Great for homework!' - per amazon.com) of the book. For another, my teacher is a Starcraft fanatic teaching full-time for the first time. She's also a self-professed "torturer", so I dunno. Just gotta make sure I never skip that class.

For some reason, the Caramel Delight Latte tastes like Irish Cream Coffee. Danged college Starbucks stand.

I use My LJ.

I find it really weird that Kum & Go, the corporation I work for, has a myspace account.

I've registered for 12 hours this semester, which starts next Monday. I'm nervous and hopeful. o_0

It's strange how much faster Quicksilver is than Spotlight.

Metal Gear Solid 3 is freaking LONG. I'd originally rented it and Hitman: Blood Money to play a bit of both, but I ended up playing all of Hitman and not even touching MGS3. Which is fine, i think, because I'm now 5 hours into the game, but only one of them consisted of me controlling anything. So. Many. Cutscenes. x_x

I cooked a turkey, and it turned out really well. If only cranberries were in season.

Well it took a year, but I beat Shadow of Colossus the other night. Once Nay gave me a helpful hint (yah, ok, I'm a cheater. D: ) it was over pretty quickly. The game took 14 hours for me, vs. 10 hours for Daniel. Ouch.

I've been sick for a week, and it's just been up and down. I wish it would go away.

I've drooled a lot over the iPhone, and thought a little too long about buying one, but I just realized that I already HAVE a phone, and for that money I could buy a PS3. Or pay off some hefty credit debt. Or buy 3 months of groceries. Or help Renay buy her car. Or any one of dozens of things that are infinitely more useful than buying something I already own. Which isnt to say I'm going to stop lusting for the iPhone. A kid came in the other night with one. His mom apparently waited three hours in line for it. I was able to resist touching it in most creepy manner, but only just.

Someday I won't be so materialistic.

Spending $534 in two days feels good, but man it's hard on my wallet. But! Now we own our modem, I have new shoes that don't squeak, some bills are paid, and we have tasty food...that will hopefully last us three weeks (HAHAHA).

I'll be visiting mom and dad sometime in the next two or three weeks. I'm due, and I didn't get a chance to talk to dad on dad's day, so yeah. I'll be bringing this.

I got woke up with French Toast (is that supposed to be capitalized? hm) this morning, and the first thing I did was whine about how non-gentle the wakeup was. What a lame boy I am.

I've been obsessed the last week or two with Creme Brulee, and I have no idea why.
